What is Compounded Semaglutide?

Compounded Semaglutide is a patient-specific medication prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider based on a medical assessment and compounded in a 503(a) Compounding Pharmacy or 503(b) Outsourcing Facility.

Compounded medications do not undergo pre-market review or an FDA-approval process. They may differ in efficacy, safety, risk, and side-effect profile from commercially available or FDA-approved drugs. Data from clinical trials on FDA-approved medications should not be used to make assessments related to compounded medications.

PharmSource exclusively works with licensed compounding pharmacies in the United States.

*PharmSourced affiliated providers work with patients to determine the best option for each member. Ultimately, your provider will determine whether a compounded medication is right for you.  Compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide are not FDA- approved or evaluated for safety or efficacy and are not available in all states.  It is important to tell your provider about your medical history, as GLP-1 and GIP medications have risk of side effects and contraindications.
